The new DOTSUMI.ORG, the home page and information center for the Bay Area Animation Society, is finally back to the land of the active. As with everything, there is plenty of change beginning with the cosmetic and going even deeper with new types of content reflecting the directional shift within the entire organization. There will be plenty of work ongoing to add new features, so please let us know what you like and what you don't. To assist in getting us this information, there will be two methods to provide feedback; direct e-mail and through the forums. Both will be reviewed on a weekly basis and most of the input should get a direct response from someone with in the development staff. |

Hate is such a strong and ugly term, I know, and should be never be used when referring to this fandom we all love so much. However, in this instance, I feel it applies as in this fandom there has been a history (some would call it a tradition) of strong emotions being allowed free reign over clear-headed decision making. There is always something which causes rash words to be spoken from the simple statement of "«insert name of current show on television» is the best show ever" to the incredibly inflammatory "«insert name of favorite show here» sucks!". Usually comments such as those and other more innane ones are enough to illicit venomous responses from others within the community who feel strongly in their opposition to said comments and thus the argument starts. In attempting to better explain why responses are so angry, I had to sift through the micro-history of our fandom to sort this out. |
